General Purpose “AI Heroes” Water Bottle Giveaway – Terms & Conditions

1. Promoter

The promoter is General Purpose Ltd, registered in England and Wales (company number 14840925) with registered office at 71–75 Shelton Street, London WC2H 9JQ (“General Purpose”, “we”, “us”).

2. Eligibility

2.1 The giveaway is open to individuals aged 18 or over who receive the General Purpose newsletter.  

2.2 Employees, contractors and agents of General Purpose, and their immediate families, are not eligible to win.  

2.3 The giveaway is open to UK residents only (the prize can only be shipped to a UK address).  

3. How to enter

3.1 To enter, tell us about your favourite example of AI use in your organisation by either:  

    • completing the online form linked in the newsletter; or  

    • emailing your example to susi@generalpurpose.com.  

3.2 Only one prize may be won per person. You may submit more than one entry, but substantially similar or low‑effort entries may be disregarded at our discretion.  

3.3 No purchase is necessary to enter.

4. Use of entries and being featured

4.1 By entering, you confirm that:  

    • the example you describe is accurate and lawful to share;  

    • you are authorised to share it with us and for us to publish it, or that it can be shared in anonymised form; and  

    • your entry does not disclose confidential information or infringe any third‑party rights.  

4.2 As a condition of being selected as an AI Hero, you must agree that General Purpose may feature your AI use case (and, where agreed, your name, job title and organisation) on our website, in our newsletter, social media channels, slide decks and other promotional materials.  

4.3 Where you ask us to include your organisation’s name or logo, you confirm that you are authorised to grant that permission.  

4.4 You agree that we may lightly edit your submission for length, clarity and house style, without changing the underlying meaning.

5. Follow‑up questions

5.1 As a condition of receiving the prize, selected entrants (“AI Heroes”) agree to take part in reasonable follow‑up, such as answering additional questions by email or taking part in a short interview, so that we can prepare the case study.  

5.2 If an AI Hero does not respond to reasonable follow‑up attempts within 14 days, we reserve the right to withdraw the prize and/or select another entry.

6. Selection and number of winners

6.1 We review eligible entries on a rolling basis. From time to time, a panel of General Purpose staff will consider entries and identify those that, in our reasonable opinion, provide clear, practical and impactful examples of AI use in the real world (“AI Heroes”).  

6.2 If your entry is selected as an AI Hero, we will:  

    • invite you to be featured as a case study; and  

    • offer you one General Purpose branded water bottle, subject to these terms.  

6.3 Our intention is that, where an entry provides a strong, real‑world AI use case, we will feature it and award a prize, provided it meets these terms and prizes remain available. However, we reserve the right to limit the number of prizes awarded or to decline to feature an entry where we reasonably consider it inappropriate, inaccurate or unsuitable for publication.

7. Prize

7.1 Each selected AI Hero will receive one General Purpose branded water bottle.  

7.2 Multiple AI Heroes may be selected over time, but no more than one prize will be awarded per person.  

7.3 The prize is non‑transferable and no cash or other alternative will be offered.  

7.4 We will aim to post the prize to a UK address provided by the selected entrant within 30 days of confirming their details. We are not responsible for delays or loss caused by third‑party delivery services.

8. Promotion period and notification

8.1 This promotion runs on a rolling basis from 1 December 2025 until we decide to end it. We may end the promotion at any time by updating these terms on our website and/or noting this in our newsletter.  

8.2 If your entry is selected as an AI Hero, we will notify you by email using the contact details provided on entry.  

8.3 If you do not respond within 14 days of our notification, or if you do not complete any reasonable follow‑up required under clause 5, we may withdraw the offer of a prize and/or select another entry.

9. Data protection

9.1 We will use your personal data to administer this giveaway and, if you are selected as an AI Hero, to publish and promote your AI use case as set out above.  

9.2 We will only send you marketing communications by email if you have separately opted in to receive them. You can withdraw your consent at any time by following the unsubscribe link in our emails or by contacting us.

10. General

10.1 We reserve the right to refuse to feature or to remove any entry which we reasonably consider to be inaccurate, unlawful, offensive or otherwise inappropriate.  

10.2 We may cancel, suspend or amend the giveaway where it becomes necessary to do so (for example, if there is a technical issue or other event outside our reasonable control).  

10.3 Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence. Otherwise, we are not responsible for any loss, damage or disappointment suffered by any entrant in connection with this giveaway.  

10.4 If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.  

10.5 These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
