An investment and advisory firm

Dedicated to transforming the global food system for better health, sustainability and food security.

Founded in 2023, they operate through two divisions: a Series A to growth-stage VC arm and a consultancy advising governments and major food companies on health and sustainability policies.

Based in London, they focus on five investment areas: agricultural technology, alternative production systems, health and nutrition, reporting and data technology, and circular economy/waste reduction.

The challenge

As a young firm operating at the intersection of investment and advisory, the team needed to punch above their weight. They're competing for deals with larger VCs while delivering policy advice to governments and multinationals. Every hour matters.

The work spans investment analysis, client deliverables, research synthesis and thought leadership. They needed AI skills that would accelerate all of it – without compromising the rigour their clients expect.

Our approach

We delivered a bespoke AI Essentials workshop to 13 team members, with an interactive, practical format focused on real business applications relevant to their investment analysis and client advisory work.

Following the training, we produced a training efficacy report to document the impact and inform their ongoing AI development.

The results

The results tell a story of genuine behaviour change, not just satisfaction scores. Each team member now saves 36 minutes per day using AI – that's three hours per week, per person.

Across the 13-person team, this recovers 1,794 hours annually, worth £38,000 in productivity. The return on training investment: 8x.

But the most striking result is the adoption depth: 67% of the team now use AI 20 or more times per week – genuine power-user levels. This isn't occasional use; it's embedded in how they work.

100% of attendees would recommend the training.

The AI use cases the team have built

The team developed AI applications spanning their investment and advisory work:

Automated News Research Assistant

Retrieves and summarises information for their fortnightly investment and market news bulletin. Staying current across agricultural tech, alternative proteins, and sustainability policy requires monitoring dozens of sources – this tool does the heavy lifting.

Client Deck Review CustomGPT

A sophisticated reviewer with detailed instructions, reviewer biography, target audience summary and style guide built in. Performs quality reviews of client deliverables before they go out the door – catching issues a tired human might miss.

Hypothesis Storyline Helper

Uses a formulaic approach to challenge and structure how the team frames investment theses and builds storylines. Good investment analysis requires rigorous thinking – this tool pressure-tests the logic.

Word Editor for Consistency

Ensures wording is clear, concise and consistent across documents, with reference materials built in. When you're producing policy advice for governments, every word matters.

AI-Assisted Brochure Designer

Handles design execution from written content inputs. Getting from written brief to designed asset faster frees up the team for higher-value work.

Nutrition Scoring Analysis Tool

Developed for a UK retailer client project. A practical example of how the team applies AI skills to deliver client value – not just internal efficiency.
