The challenge
A venture capital and advisory firm competing with larger VCs while delivering policy advice to governments and multinationals needed to accelerate work across investment analysis, client deliverables, research synthesis, and thought leadership. They required AI skills that would improve efficiency without compromising the rigour their clients expected.
What we did
We delivered a bespoke Mastering AI workshop to 13 team members using an interactive, practical format focused on real business applications relevant to their venture capital and advisory work. Post-training, a training efficacy report was produced to document impact and inform ongoing AI development.
Key AI use cases
The team explored AI applications across both their investment and advisory practices. On the VC side, they built a custom GPT for reviewing client decks that incorporates their style guide, reviewer biography, and target audience to deliver consistent, detailed feedback. They also created an automated fortnightly news research bulletin and a hypothesis storyline helper that challenges and structures how the team frames investment theses.
For their advisory work, participants developed a nutrition scoring analysis tool for a UK retailer project, a word editor that enforces consistency across documents using built-in reference materials, and an AI-assisted brochure designer. One of the most creative applications was a detailed intern assessment day planner that designs financial modelling exercises relevant to VC investment team capabilities.
