
How The Forward Institute embedded AI across their entire team
The Forward Institute used pre- and post-session Mentimeter surveys to measure the impact of a tailored AI programme. After training, 79% felt more confident using AI, 93% could see clear day-to-day applications, two thirds felt they better understood the ethical risks of AI, and 64% expected to use AI at least twice a day.

The challenge
The Forward Institute team were, in their own words, "dabbling" with AI tools. Individual experimentation was happening, but there was no structured approach and no consistency across the organisation. They needed to move from curiosity to confident, daily use.

What we did
We delivered a tailored training programme for the Forward Institute team, focused on practical application of AI tools in their specific context. The work was designed to move the team from experimental use to confident, repeated application in day-to-day leadership development work. Pre- and post-session Mentimeter surveys were used to measure the shift.

Key AI use cases
The post-training examples showed a clear shift from abstract interest to practical application. Participants described using AI to critique workshop agendas through leadership personas, improve personal review work, tighten emails and research documents, and use self-critique prompts to get better outputs.
The survey data also gave the story much more weight. After the session, 11 of 14 respondents said they felt pretty confident prompting with AI, 13 of 14 could see clear day-to-day applications, 9 of 14 expected to use AI at least twice a day going forward, and roughly two thirds felt they better understood the ethical risks of AI.
